    This this this.

Robe will never hire a guy that doesn’t involve small ball in their game plan. And who can blame him, it’s served us well. It’s frustrating as hell, and I get it, but this is the brand of ball we’ll always play.

Deggs used the bunt, but it was a small part of his plan at the plate. It wasn't his entire plan at the plate. Teams were surprised when we bunted. Now they expect us to bunt ALL THE TIME. They aren't afraid of anyone in the lineup.

I think our memory changes things as time goes on. Deggs beat Bama and LSU with the bunt that season. Many other games where it was a primary weapon. But I agree with the premise that, because we could rake, the bunt became so much more devastating.

Which is why I would like to see Mr. Todd Lott kick that long ___ leg of his. His hands are elite quick, he will adjust.

As long as JT is still around, we don't leg kick like that around here.

I think we led the nation in bunt singles.

This is Jake Wells’ offense now. He is the man. The decisions go through him. JT understands that. If Lott is not using the leg kick, he’s either comfortable now without it, or he’s being told not to by scouts.

I’ll see what I can find out about it.

Judging from only what I have seen so far of Well's system (I have no inside info). He seems to prefer a quieter load. He has a two strike approach we used in high school that I hated and that Tony Gwynn specifically roasted in his book. That is with two strikes, you spread out, crouch down, and don't move your foot at all. Just let your hands do all the work.

Mr. Gwynn's rebuttal was always, why have two different swings. You have worked on swinging a certain way your whole life to then try to change that with 2 strikes and expect to be successful? I have seen some people have success with that approach, but personally, I was with Mr. Gwynn on that one. It's one thing to shorten up a little with two strikes and another to radically change everything you do and are comfortable with.

Edit: for those that don't know, Tony Gwynn is still statistically the best two strike hitter who ever played.

It would be interesting to see Lott's swing from the Cape compared to now.
