Our WBB is currently seated higer in the sunbelt standings than the men
Oh I'm thinking of a number. Less than 6K buying season tickets and generally less than 4K actually at the games. So countless may be a bad adjective. It's a sport we're pretty good at, we've got an iconic coach so naturally we let that cloud our judgment.
Of course I get it, but I wonder how much we'd love baseball on the whole if we'd get to the sweet sixteen regularly, or a New Years Bowl every three or four years. But we don't and baseball, a sport in general decline, is fun here. I like most here enjoy every minute, well sometimes too many minutes but generally not.
That's the beauty of early season standings.
Here's the reality:
In order to make the tournament the women must finish in the top 10. I believe that will happen as they are better than the teams they've beaten (although they still must go on the road and play all three again.)
In order to host a first round game they must finish seventh or eighth. That means they must be better than App or Coastal.
Because they are not better than Arkansas, Texas or Alabama. The good news is they only have to play the Texas schools and the Alabama schools once.
Worst case scenario is to finish ninth or tenth, play at home on the final Saturday then have to travel to App or Coastal to play on a Monday night.
