Listened to some of the women's game on radio. They have really improved defensively and now have a winning record in conference. Wonder if they will be able to maintain that on the road.

Oh I'm thinking of a number. Less than 6K buying season tickets and generally less than 4K actually at the games. So countless may be a bad adjective. It's a sport we're pretty good at, we've got an iconic coach so naturally we let that cloud our judgment.

Of course I get it, but I wonder how much we'd love baseball on the whole if we'd get to the sweet sixteen regularly, or a New Years Bowl every three or four years. But we don't and baseball, a sport in general decline, is fun here. I like most here enjoy every minute, well sometimes too many minutes but generally not.

I agree mostly.. To sum up, its what we got.. Football is on a upward trajectory , and our BB teams ae sliding down hill fast... But Baseball and softball always was our glowing chance to be relevant on the big stage in that sport.

That's the beauty of early season standings.

    Here's the reality:

In order to make the tournament the women must finish in the top 10. I believe that will happen as they are better than the teams they've beaten (although they still must go on the road and play all three again.)

In order to host a first round game they must finish seventh or eighth. That means they must be better than App or Coastal.

Because they are not better than Arkansas, Texas or Alabama. The good news is they only have to play the Texas schools and the Alabama schools once.

Worst case scenario is to finish ninth or tenth, play at home on the final Saturday then have to travel to App or Coastal to play on a Monday night.

Here is the truth. This women team is playing much better than the one that lost to the NAIA teams. In fact this team would clobber it’s former self. They’re that improved.

Have to agree 100%.. Whatever has happened, maturity or coaching is working.

Another factor is the last 3 opponents didn’t have bigs inside that either outnumbered us (Georgia schools) or were not as skilled as prior opponents (ULM). Not saying other factors didn’t play into these wins, but Little Rock would handle this team today, tomorrow and yesterday. Just more favorable matchups the last 3 games.

I am not comparing this team to this team. I am comparing this team to the rest of the league. I'm glad they are better. The staff is coaching them up and they are maturing.

But they aren't ready to play the first division of this league. If they avoid the first round, it will be an amazing job by Brodhead and his staff.

Brodhead has never put a team on the court that could consistantly compete at the top of the conference.

Until he recruits players that are capable of competing at that level, I am not giving him a pass. I do agree that they are playing better, but that is a natural result of young players beginning to adjust to the speed of the game.
