Thread: Tracking the Preaux Career (and health) of Danny Farquhar

UL Baseball Tracking the Preaux Career (and health) of Danny Farquhar

Danny pitched a pretty good game on Saturday. Was wondering what are the chances he would return next year since his year was not the best.
Those scouts love the ball in the 90's but a lot of times when they were scouting he did not look good. (Walks, hitting batters etc)

If his status drops in the draft what would keep him for a senior year.

Have heard that Hawkins has said that if he was not drafted in the first 10 rounds he would be back. I do not see him gong that high so he would be a wecome return.

It will be intresting to see who the Cajuns bring in for next year.

It all depends on what his number is in his mind on what he will take in order to leave. I think that if he was draft eligible last season he might of had a better chance, because I think that he PITCHED better than he did this year. If you paid attention yesterday, if was an example of his entire season. He got beat up a little early with his fastball and it was not until he started using that cutter or slider and change up that he really cut them up. His velocity is up a little this year but it looked like he fell in love with it and it kinda got him hurt throughout the year. There is no doubt when he is changing speeds, and comming from different arm slots that he is filthy dirty. I hope that we can hold on to him for another year and he can come back refreshed. I think Hawkins may come back. The only bad thing is that he is a DH without a position. He would also be welcomed back with open arms. He had a great year. Only guy in the lineup to hit over .300. Day in and day out he was pitched so darn tough. For the most of the year he was our only threat in the lineup so he saw slider after slider after slider and still put up numbers. I would love to have him back.

I hope both will stay. Imo, it would be a tougher decision for Hawkins having a wife and two kids.
I saw quite a few scouts in the stands over the week. Hopefully we can have them back next season

I think he goes in the top 12 rounds, maybe the top 10. Hawkins will be back next year.

Would love to have both back but if only one returns I think Hawkins will be of more value.

After the season he had, I would think he would jump at the opportunity. Anybody close to the program know which way he is leaning?

I don't know anything, I just have a feeling he is going. I hope he stays.

“Right now, it looks like I’m going in the fifth or sixth round,” Farquhar said. “If I get (the money) I want I’m ready to play pro ball.”
