We don’t know how maggard will approach this situation. Hopefully he and tony can see eye to eye and turn this thing around. But I don’t think for one second that maggard will let this thing spin out of control. There is too much money involved now.

I agree with your last 2 sentences...however...I can’t imagine a successful & tenured HC being told he HAS has to fire one of his staff members...especially when no off-field issues (arrests, violations, etc) are in play...and he just roll over...

If you look at last night in an isolated way, yes, pitching let us down. We scored 7 runs and gave up 8. 7 should win.

We struck out 16 times. We left 7 risp. We can't execute a gd bunt and waste a leadoff double in extra innings. Yes, pitching blew a 3 run lead. They've also been pitching under stress for 25 games now. That will wear on you.

I don't disagree with you comments, other than we know who we are now with the bats. That stress that you are talking about has been and will continue to be the only way we are going to win this season. The runs were enough to close this game out against a team that is hitting .255, has 42 errors and 5.50 ERA. We can't win any other way. Our HC should know this by now and he left Williams in entirely too long. This one is on Rob.

In Robe’s defense... Williams was throwing strikes and locating both the fastball and offspeed. Often times a coach comes with a quick hook when a pitcher isn’t locating his stuff, but if he’s giving up a few hits and locating his stuff, will let the pitcher try to work through it. Williams was allowed to work through his jam and just couldn’t get any outs when he needed them.

If something were to happen, it would be more of a "do something to change this" approach taken by Maggard. As mentioned before, there's too much money involved with what happened tonight.

Exactly. There won’t be a public firing but I would not be surprised by a “make a change or here’s a nice little retirement package” type of deal.

This game came down to the ground ball in the bottom 9th that a diving Kassuls nearly made a fantastic play to turn into a double play... instead he was inches away and they scored the 6th run and pushed the tying run to 3rd...

Then McKinnon's missed suicide squeeze. Wow. How do you not put the bat on the ball? He was clearly uncomfortable and just lunged for the ball. F Ugly.

I bet Stolke didn't pitch the 9th because our coaches felt good with a 3-run lead. I wonder if Stolke warmed up when we were batting in the top of the 9th (with only a 1 run lead)... Anyone know?

No words. For this. Just bad. Baseball. vs. the one of the worst teams in the league and it was a freakin' battle - vs. one of the worst in the Belt. Guess we can look forward to the App Series. That should be a good one also. We can forget about all the others. Even Little Rock is good this year. It's a shame we are so bad with the Belt being so good this year (5th rated at moment)... Belt coulda helped the RPI if we could get a decent amount of wins. Oh well.

Every team qualifies. Don’t know details but t top teams are automatically in double elimination while some teams play an elimination game to qualify for the double elimination portion
