Thread: UL hand gesture in jeopardy

Seems for rock and roll the thumb is pulled in? However it is same with the thumb out as the L, maybe we could strike up a partnership with him. There was a cajun on the LA Kiss arena football team

Get rid of it. It was always an embarrassment.

First, it says 'I love you' in AmSLan. That's typical of the research our tradition-manufacturers do before they launch something.

Second, it was a cheesy attempt at 'let's do what all the big schools do, and pretend we're just like them.' It all started with the Texas Longhorn, followed by Gig 'em Aggies, Texas Tech's pistols, Baylor's bearclaw, etc. etc. etc.

It's not just that we do it. I have no love for LTU, but I still cringe when they do their 'Bulldog Paw'. It's small-time, small-school behavior.

"Better one's own path, though imperfect, than another's well-made." We have one of the most remarkable cultures in the nation. Our traditions should start with who we are.

We should never be a 3rd-rate imitation of some Texas gimmick.

I have never heard of that, thankfully.

Maybe they retired it; I hope so. But I can still remember the band marching on the field, holding up their hands (as I remember it) like you would if you're examining your nails, but facing outward.
