Running out of water is inexcusable. Sodexo needs to be gone! 20k+ jammed into 1 side of the stadium with 1/2 a stadium worth of vendors and brutally hot weather. Some of those concession lines were unreal. Completely unprepared. Ridiculous.

Yep- It was the 2010 home against Arkansas State that was brutally hot with a 2:30 kickoff. David Walker refused to play MTSU at 2:30 the next game

At least we had the west side seats with a concourse for shade back then. Yesterday was worse IMO

I was a student. They had handed out novelty towels to the students before the game, and I'm glad because that was the only refuge from the sun afforded to us on the East side. Brutal heat that game.

My friends and I are all die hard cajun fans and all over 70. We stayed for all of the game.
To run out of water on this day was inexcusable.
A major lesson learned for when this happens again.

My friend and I stayed until after Tulane missed the field goal. We started walking to the car to beat the rest of the crowd. No doubt that it was HOT. As far as running out of bottled water, I have heard that they were handing out cups of ice with hot bottled water by the concession stands in the end zone. I wish I would’ve known that because the one I was sitting by gave me hot bottled water without the ice.

Knowing the weather forecast going into this game, running out of bottled water is inexcusable. If the university loves to preach about “liability” with how they handle things with fans, they definitely didn’t follow through with that yesterday.

After my then girlfriend stayed with me thru the monsoon UAB game while I was in college, I married her. lol.

To be honest the Ice Indy bowl in Shreveport was worse, but the heat Bowl was pretty hot.

Thanks for posting this link. It sure was refreshing to read a thread from back when Ragin Pagin did not have any idiots posting from multiple alter accounts and derailing every thread. I miss those days.

I’d like to praise all the dedicated Fans who attended the HEAT BOWL.

While I attended, we left at halftime due to the heat. Heat and senior citizens don’t mix.

It’s so sad when money games like the one we experienced Saturday take precidence over the safety of the Players, the band, athletic staff and FANS.

I remember the last time we had an 11am game against MTSU, David Walker was AD, he contacted the SBC commissioner and told him never to schedule a Cajun game at 11am in the Fall. He got a huge praise from a Dallas Sports writer for standing up. For the team and fans.

Does anyone else remember this.

And they held Family Day in this heat, how stupid was that, to me it had to be a turn off for the parents.

To me, nothing beat the Arkansas St game years back. I can't remember the year. Felt like my shoes were going to melt off my feet. Can only imagine what it felt like on the field. I get holding family weekend when a game like that is played because you want to bring as many people to the game but those conditions were unfortunate.

I find it interesting that among a list of highlights from the game, one was selling 17,000 bottles of water and that still wasn’t enough. Everyone knew what the forecast was going to be and they weren’t prepared.

To be fair, I believe family day/weekend is held the second week of the season every year. It just so happened that this season the game was at 11 am in the blistering heat.
