I seen that the Temple guy for LSU's dad was the first black player for LSU in 1974. My question is, who was the first black basketball player for UL and what year was it?? Thanks.

Eight years before, UL had 3 players. Elvin Ivory (44), Marvin Winkler (14), Leslie Scott (24) the year was 1966

The year is a link to team picture but I am not sure why Leslie Scott is not in it.

Scott originally signed with Loyola of Chicago out of McKinley HS.

Does anyone remember seeing him play in a Cajun uniform?

I could be wrong but I believe Marvin Winker was a freshman in '65-66 the season before that picture was taken. Winkler was a senior in '68-'69, the season Bo Lamar was a freshman.
