I don't mind being in traffic, as long as my butt is in my seat in plenty of time. My party wants to leave from lafayette at about 2pm. Think I'm safe?

Just got email confirmation for our room. Leaving early Friday morning for my appointment with Dr. Bouligny.
SO ABSOFRICKINGLUTLY GEEKED FOR THIS WEEKEND.
Promotions: Weak so far. One television add showing up on a regular basis. I do not pay attention to what station, but my bet is channel 4, 6, and local ads for ESPN.
Tickets: The tickets UL has are the tickets that the bowl has furnished them. People who wanted better seating need to not buy through UL. The best of those tickets went very early, and again only the tickets provided by the bowl to UL.
yes it is suppose to be great
If I have to be in New Orleans for a specific time, no matter what the day is, I always go Hwy 90 through Morgan City. I leave 15 or 20 minutes earlier than I would if I take the interstate. Getting hung up in the Basin or in Baton Rouge can easily burn an hour. With all the construction going on in Baton Rouge burning an hour is a pretty good bet.
Putting things in perspective:
18000 is more than double what any Sun Belt school has sold in the past.
You can expect a crowd in excess of 40,000 for the game.
I know we had a thread.. I've searched but I can't find it.

Getting either the peace maker or fried soft shell crab

Debris poboy? Seafood platter? Soft shell crabs?
What was that Italian restaurant ya'll were talking about?
I take 90 to Venice, LA to go fishing alot, but never really go that way to go to NOLA. To get to the Superdome area of NOLA, do I cross the Huey P. Long Bridge or just stay on 90 through the west bank? Also, what is the toll there like $3?
I think we will try Maximos Italian Grill or LaBoca. Never eaten at either, but was recommend to eat there by someone that goes to NOLA alot.
You are in a faction of Cajun fans that aren't really able to purchase through UL but will be going to the game; there have to be MANY Cajun fans that are in this predicament! Yes, it is critical for tickets to be purchased through UL for UL to get any monetary benefit from those ticket sales ... but it is also critical for any and all UL fans to attend the game, period!
You are going to the game my friend, and I trust you will be all decked out in Cajun red! There will be many like you and thank you for your support!
I would fully expect next year's NO Bowl (not putting any pressure on the team am I?) ticket sales to be much smoother. Not to place blame on anyone as this may not have even come into play; but several years back, there was a choice to be made in purchasing a ticket sales program; Option A was cheaper; it didn't have many options, but it was cheaper. Option B was nice, it was really nice; but it was more expensive.
Which option do you think was chosen? Option A is a "hint" ... we no longer are run by people with this mindset ... let's go IN FORCE and enjoy us a BOWL GAME!
Geaux CAJUNS!
We just take 90 to 310 and then get back on I10
ha ha 45 minutes and I'll be sitting on Bourbon, no traffic on i-10 through New Orleans east
you could have bought through UL they will have tickets for pickup on Fri at the fan party and also at will call on Sat at the dome. I live in Mississippi and was worried about the Fed Ex route when I got my call and they were very quick to give me options other than pick up in Lafayette or mail
Maspero's on Friday, lucky dog on Bourbon, Central Grocery for lunch Saturday, and don't know about lunch Sunday yet

I agree with the masperos on Friday for lunch. I love that place great sandwich. After that no time to eat its going to be a great time.
UL officials are encouraging Ragin' Cajun fans to "come and send off the players" when they leave this afternoon for New Orleans, where Saturday night they will face San Diego State in the New Orleans Bowl. The Cajuns will board buses and depart ...
