Thank you King.
You can actually purchase tickets thru the Aztec ticket office right now. The number is 619-283-7378.
Just tell them you want tickets for the Bowl Game in the name of the Marshall Faulk Foundation.
Thanks, will do.
Curious, have they figured out how they will disperse them in New Orleans.
BTW this is a fantastic program and you and your fans should be rightly proud of it. It's the kind of thing we like to think we would do around here. I suspect your community must be a lot like ours.
After the money is collected and given to the Marshall Faulk Foundation, a spokesman will announce at a press conf. as to how the tickets will be distributed.
I will try to keep on top of that information and post it here. I know the guy who will be bringing the tickets to New Orleans on behalf of the Marshall Faulk Foundation and he is probably the one that will do the press conf.
You can thank the San Diego Community because it is a generous community but all the props on this one go to Marshall Faulk him self.
It is his Foundation, he is hands on in the operation, and he loves New Orleans. Hats off to Marshall Faulk on this great idea.
You know things were mismanaged... If ultoday finds it appropriate to make a negative comment! My brother and I felt that our purchase was screwed up and the entire process just did not make any since... After 3 weeks of being told to just be patient on several phone conversations because we knew something was wrong we finally got called and the seating assignments were not acceptable. I got on the phone and raised a whole lot of hell and it was recommended to speak with Scott about the situation. My brother then met with John Dugas in person due to Scott not being available. I must say... within a day John resolved the issue and I appreciate the problem being somewhat fixed. I also know and understand how the staff worked extremely hard and many long hours trying to get this done the right way, but I have to wonder how many other accounts were mishandled and most are not willing to speak up. In the future there just has to be a better way to accomplish this task in a timely/fair manner. RCAF donations should not be overlooked… I came very close to telling them they could forget about our current level of contribution as well as any season tickets being made in the future. Being a former UL athlete and Alum, I will always be a RAGIN CAJUN.~.… but it is just very difficult at times!:hot:
Geaux Cajuns!
Here is the official wording on the info for this great cause...

San Diego State Athletics, the Aztec Club and the Marshall Faulk Foundation have teamed up to provide tickets to elementary age children in New Orleans. Aztec Fans may call the Aztec Ticket office and sponsor a New Orleans youth to attend the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl pitting Marshall’s San Diego State Aztecs versus the Ragin Cajuns of Louisiana Lafayette. For every ticket that Aztec fans purchase, the Marshall Faulk Foundation will match that purchase. Tickets are priced at $40 each. To sponsor a New Orleans youth, please contact the Aztec Ticket Office at (619) 283-7378.

Looks like the House of Blues is having an after party for us, ANYONE going??
I don't really have anything to complain about since I just found out that I will be able to attend the game. I just called a few minutes ago to buy tickets, and was also told that no 300 level tickets were being sold. He said I would be in the end zone most likely in the 200 level, which I am fine with. My question is this? At what point will we stop taking orders for tickets? If it is taking this long to call everyone back, and the game is only a week away, it would have to be really soon.
He did tell me that the number of tickets sold so far is over 17K. I'm still a little disappointed in the number, but it is what it is I guess. With the time remaining until the game, I don't see us selling over 20K. Hopefully, they'll learn from this year, and it will be handled much better next time around.
FYI, the tickets in that listing are on the Aztecs side of the field.
If the school sold 17000 then I would guess 5000-10000 from other outlets and 5000 or so freebies then 5000 or so from San Diego and bands the dome will blow past any previous records
Whoever scheduled this needs a hard right.......

Okay, I may just be stuck in lafayette for reasons we won't get into.. (grins)
It just is hitting me.. I probably not the only one.. Have just made a call and "hopefully" will have some details soon to be able to join other Cajun fans at a place to root..
ps. Yes the "definition" of "root" also forthcoming (God willing.. (smiles)
Got mine today. I must say that my experience with the "UL" ticket folks has been great, but the "Cajundome" box office could use some customer service training. The person who left a message on my voicemail called me by the wrong name. So I called back to make sure those tickets were mine, because I didn't want to waste a trip to the Cajundome (I'm on foot). They refused to check. In the words of Chris Christie, "What the hell are we paying you for?"
Section 325, Row 13, Seats 5, 6 and 7. Sorry to those who donate more, bought tickets way earlier and didn't get these. It's on the Visitors' side. Are Cajuns fans actually sitting together? I hope that, since I purchased through the University, that I'll be sitting around Cajuns fans. Seems pretty random to me. But I'm happy. i've got my tickets, and I didn't even think in a million years that when we finally got to a bowl game, I'd actually be able to go. So I'm thrilled.
Section 259 row 4 seats 10,11,12. Cajun Nation better show up after years of whining and crying. We need to pack as many Ragin Cajun fans as possible. Are it will look bad on us!
I did the deposit the first day available, RCAF member (1k per year), season ticket holder (3) got my tickets day after Thanksgiving in section 143. I went to pick up another set today for a friend, 300 level seats. While in line saw a friend who is the same RCAF level as me and season tickets, he received his call 2 days ago, bowl tickets in section 143. So unless they just screwed up some orders, it seems the system is working. If it's that big a deal to those who haven't been called, email Shavauin, she replied to me the other day within a couple hours.
As for the tickets being given away the GNOSF is selling $10 tickets that are above the 300 level. Also if you run the 5k in NO the morning of the game you can also get a a $10 ticket. I would guess those tickets will be in the terrace, but not sure.
