Pretty sure we'd have to win 3 more to move on to Fort Worth. To come out of the loser's bracket like we do now, we would have to be able to swing the bat a lot better than we do. To play the number two team in the nation - on their own turf - as close as we did - in front of their own crowd - when it really counted - does NOT deserve any such label as MEDIOCRITY!!

I wasn't talking about competing tonight. I was talking about competing consistently. Sure, we competed tonight, but our program can't compete with teams like Texas. We are never going to have the athletes that they have year in and year out. We would have had to have the "perfect storm" type of regional where we play over our heads. We don't have the depth to come back through the loser's bracket.Quote:

I get pretty bummed with some of the guys on here that talk big talk about us not battling like a giant. We played like giants last night. Texas had nothing on us. A couple of stray pitches and two Texans go yard. That was the difference in the game.

Well, the baseball and softball teams are not mediocre, they are the ones keeping us there. Without them, the program would be worse than average, so I am not bashing them. The whole athletic program needs to step it up before we lose the remaining good teams.
