You don't think 2nd level suites would sell? I want to know who the hell buys those suites on the roof?

I've pondered the same thoughts. LOL!
A nice 2nd level club area, with 300-400 seats would be awesome.
If you've experienced club seating at sporting events, it can spoil you.
Clean restrooms, better dining, great sight lines, and networking opportunities.
Folk will pay for an exclusive experience. Everyone wants to be part of the club. Cajun Club Level Seating.....I like it.

The dome 1) doesn’t have the annual volume to support such a venture and 2) structurally would kill available seating to regular folks, especially at concerts. That’s the dome’s moneymakers.
Who buys the present suites, go file a FOIA request.
Be careful with fireworks today.

Fair, but my other points still stand. Other than it being at night, you can’t create more of a perfect storm than that.

If you’ve ever been in those suites you’d know why nobody pays for them.
It was genuinely the worst sports experience of my life. I’ve never felt so disconnected from a basketball game. And of course you’re watching it all in a room that hasn’t been renovated since 1985 so there’s nothing premium about it.
However I do think 2nd level suites would sell — especially for concerts. And especially if they were set up like other suites and had stadium seating in front.

I think the Table Room is/was the Cajundome’s attempt at premium seating. I remember getting an email offering a yearly membership to get access for all events but I’m not sure if that idea was abandoned.
Honestly, if UL and the Cajundome didn’t operate as two separate entities this would be an easy fix. They could offer up the court side seats as premium seating and have the Table Room as a premium lounge.

Re: Conference realignment again????
Throw away the last 2 years of attendance @ CF. Unfortunately, it coincided with our 2 best years in Football. While we are at it, let's make CF 10K, that way it looks full, and many of you can be happy. Low attendance is the end result of many factors before the game even takes place. Fix those things first.

We can't get fans in the seats and we are talking about needing nicer suites. Geez.

Re: Conference realignment again????
Reading lots of talk about PAC-12 schools talking to the BIG-12. In addition, PAC-12 schools have also reached out to the BIG-10 after USC/UCLA announced their move. How will this all play out? Will the SEC make moves to acquire more schools? What will the trickle down effect be?
-
Re: Conference realignment again????
Back to realignment talk, I'm seeing Big 12 is looking to add Arizona, Arizona state, colorado, and Utah.
With these 4 going to Big 12, and USC and UCLA going Big 10, I'd look for Oregon to also join Big 10. That would kill Pac 12 with only Oregon state, Cal-Berkley, Stanford, Washington, Washington state left standing

Do the Cajuns need to be in the Big 12 in the future?

These overtures should have been taking place for the last ten years.
If Louisiana had gone independant when suggested, it would have been first and foremost on any and every conference expansion list.
I think that ship has sailed.

The PAC 12 won’t die. Whoever is left will pick apart the Mountain West.
What happens to the Mountain West will be interesting. I think they’ll survive too, but there’s no telling what it will look like. They can take their pick of the WAC, C-USA, or maybe even the AAC. This could also be the catalyst that gets NDSU to jump to FBS.
Edit: of course the funnest scenario is that the Mountain West decides to take UTEP and NMSU. That would probably make MT and WKU bite the bullet and go to the MAC. And that would leave La Tech stuck in a conference with FIU, Jacksonville State, Liberty and Sam Houston. :-)

Correct, it won't "die" but it is the end of it being a "P5" conference. It's no coincidence that pac-12 is getting raided, it will become 4 major conferences

Rumor that I heard was PAC-12 adding Fresno State and San Diego State University

If that is the only teams they bringing in then they will be raided by the big 12…. Those two schools don’t move the needle…. Pac 12 is done for if they can’t poach a big 12 school or 2..

Being as independent for UL is one of the dumbest ideas on the internet.

Yours is a shortsighted declaration.
No one ever said permanent, but if you want to get noticed, get out from under the pile.
Sometimes you have to run twice as fast to get on the easy train.
<i>"I'm not going to run to get on that train"
"Well enjoy where you are, because there you will stay. "</i>

Dr. Maggard made it very clear,....our program will not operate in a continuous deficit.
Not sure if he or T-Joe made this decision, but it signals we are going to be a G5 program for the foreseeable future. I would rather walk into the darkness of the AAC or potentially the Big 12, but I don't balance the books.
With our recent success and Maggard's connections, one would think we could get to a larger conference if our leadership really wanted to.
One would speculate, this is why Cajun Field talks have haulted. No one wants to invest big dollars into SBC programs. Makes no sense to upgrade if we remain in the SBC. Ride the current version Cajun Field until the wheels fall off.

With all due respect this is an awful take. The SBC has become an absolute fantastic conference. One worth investing in! I don’t even know where to begin with that one.
With that said, you ALWAYS invest in your athletics, especially the premium program.

Agreed… if we aren’t trying to make our facilities better then we are falling behind…. Gotta invest in a stadium with the ideal size, but the ability to expand if needed. We have to get this right are we fall into the dust bin of history.

Look
If you had
One shot
Or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted
In one moment
Would you capture it
Or just let it slip away?
