i am definitely a bigger fan of going somewhere we dont normally go. and more so prefer to have the latest possible game. (so we could maximize the extra practices)
however, with orlando, i could see a small problem when it comes to hotels, as many people already go there at this time of year regardless of sports. i hope im wrong.
p.s. does a bowl eligible team that either declines a bowl or doesnt get picked, still get the practices?
Are you saying every Cajun family has already been to Orlando this year?
Who cares if the direct flights out of Lafayette aren’t daily. It’s a leave Friday at lunch, return Monday morning scenario. That’s a perfect setup for going to the game Saturday then taking a 1 day trip to Disney or Universal.
Don't think you can get the numbers for closing the park but the Bowl or SBC should definitely be discussing discount tickets. They will certainly offer some heavy discounts because of the potential group size and the time of year.
I looked at the Cure Bowl website and saw nothing. Which I though was somewhat surprising.
I looked at hotel prices in New Orleans and they are double what they used to be for New Orleans bowl weekend
The first year UL went to the Nee Orleans bowl you could get rates around 80 now they are around 150 mostly because UL helped raise the profile of the game
Of course not, but I know 4 other families not including myself that are UL season ticket holders that vacationed in Orlando this year and they are not going to commit that kind of money to another trip this close to Christmas. They would have driven to Mobile and will do so if we win the championship and attend the New Orleans Bowl.
You do realize some people go to Orlando yearly or every other year right? It's a family tradition for them. As I stated in another post, I know four other season ticket holders that will not make that trip because they are not going to spend those kinds of funds this close to Christmas.
Flights, who cares? Me, have you flown to Orlando this year? I have, once out of Baton Rouge and the other time out of New Orleans. So, if I or anyone else wanted to try and make the bowl and cut our expenses flying out of Lafayette on Frontier, staying an extra night just to get another flight back to Lafayette is going to cost more money. Flying out of Baton Rouge and New Orleans aren't an option at present cost. As I said, but those of us that are not interested in the Disney thing and just attending the bowl game, there is no way of doing it at a reasonable cost for a family of four or even three.
I hope we win the championship, so more people can enjoy Coach Napiers first bowl with the program.
