Don’t think Mike was saying Marlin wouldn’t take the Ole Miss job, or any better job. He’s only saying the obvious Marlin is a little long in the tooth without a great resume.
I recently heard that the Ole Miss job is a very low level SEC job. Again Ole Miss might have a hard time getting the young high profile coaches, so they may try a coach who’s clean, with recent success. I’d think he’d need to at least reach the round of 32.
I think you will hear something within the next couple of days about Dion Brown being inducted into our Hall of Fame this weekend. That event can be promoted. I wonder if that will be discussed on Coach Marlin's radio show tonight at Pete's. I know Jay hopes to make that show a celebration of sorts to honor the regular season championship. Having the younger Brown make his official visit the same weekend as his father's induction makes sense from a logistics stand point. Hope we can draw a good crowd Saturday night so as to increase our chances of signing the younger Brown.
We are staying for the Thursday game but heading back to TX. On Friday morning.....felt we needed to honor this special Senior class by attending at least 1 of the 2 home games left
Shareef O'Neal, Shaquel O'neil's son who just decommitted from Arizona, just committed to UCLA. With the fact that Dion Brown's son Jordan was interested in UCLA, how does this affect us, with the recruiting of Brown?
Do they play the same position? If no, he may want to play alongside another big-time recruit.
It's hard to speculate when we don't know what he is looking at in a school. The fact that he is considering us at all says maybe a chance to win a NC isn't a consideration.
Maybe following in his dad's footsteps means enough to him to trump everything else. We definitely can't compare facility or tradition wise with UCLA.
Its good we have transfers who's home base is far away, Brown can relate to those guys...its not like UL starters are within a 200 mile drive...
