Leger knows how to succeed on the mound as a player. He was one of the best in the entire country during his time here. I think it's a well-taken risk to see if that experience can overcome any lack of experience in the coaching ring.
For the record, I love the hire. Just sick of the thin skin where anything not overly positive is considered bashing.
Hell, some complain about how high some of our standards are yet will say we just hired Leo Mazzone (MAT I was about to use him in an example earlier and got a laugh out of you using him).

For the record I also like the hire and hope it works out. GL getting hired really shouldnt surprise anyone. UL has had a history of using the hiring practice of the good old boy system. As JD said this could really pay off down the road.

I like the hire. Good coaches are normally the sons of coaches, and many times across different sports. And that is the case here. It may not be great from day 1, but Gunner has a chance to be an excellent addition to the staff.

This could be a low pay/risk, high reward. It is worth a shot. What we have isn't working for the most part.

I approve this message 1000%
Re: Gunner Leger Back on Board
Just heard his position will be Director of Pitching and Analytics. Does that mean he isn’t an actual assistant?
(Didn’t look through the five pages of crap, so may have already been addressed)

With the annual revamping of titles, who knows anymore.
Good question though.

Justin will thrive and be very successful long term, just as Gunner will.
There is more than enough God given talent, support and work ethic for them to kill it. I am excited for them both.
Karly is an amazing talent who will be successful at whatever she chooses when she hangs up her cleats.
