Re: Jay Walker is full of it
One more thing. Like I said, none of this matters because it is football. But when it isn't football, it probably does matter. For example, if you get sick, please go to a damn doctor. Ignore the guy ranting on social media who pushes medical conspiracy theories. He doesn't have the information or the expertise. (I'd be willing to bet Jay Walker would call out that guy too.)

Re: Jay Walker is full of it
Reading through this entire thread, I come back to the same conclusion.
Why does it matter what fans think and who cares if fans are right or wrong?
The fact of the matter in all of this is that fans care enough to agree or disagree. They care enough to even talk about what's going on with the football team. Want to see fans not care? Go look at the Men's Basketball thread where they were voted Preseason favorites in the Sun Belt. Most posts in consist of asking "how" and laughing rather than being excited about the upcoming season. They're so checked out that there's no motivation to even start a conversation. Would you rather that?
I enjoy the dialogue whether I disagree with it or not because at least we have people who care enough to talk about it. I'd rather that than no dialogue at all.

What the ____ are you talking about... WE are talking about football. Either contribute to that discussion are shut the ____ up. Good hell man.

While we're on a wild goose chase here, I'll add to the chaos:
BWK is invested in The GOAT and is just driving traffic to the show.

Trying to paint Jay as a hero in this situation as if this was the same as calling someone out for spreading harmful misinformation is a complete fallacy and disingenuous. Scott was discussing the LSU football game and his surprise at the level Daniels played at against Florida. Jay decided it was his time to get a dig in at UL fans because the man is incapable of stepping in front of a microphone and not doing so. A caller dared to call in and point out that Jay was essentially constructing a straw man by altering Cajun fans true gripe with the ULM game and was immediately cut off, talked down to, and told “im not gonna argue with you.”
Jay did this his entire career. He would cut off any opinion not matching his own and end the discussion. The only difference in today and 2010 is the caller would’ve been dumped if it was Jay’s show. And this was all before Kyle even got on the phone.
Today was my first time listening in a while and it’ll most likely be my last time listening for a while. To each their own though.

Re: Jay Walker is full of it
I'm embarrassed that we have a pxp guy who engages with fans in this regard and talks to them like this. I've seen it on this board and have just rolled my eyes.. but this is just embarrassing. I don't care if the guys calling in are dead right or dead wrong... this is just bad. Is it typical for a schools pxp guy to tell fans how to be a fan? We can't get 20k people in Cajun Field and this is how we treat and talk to fans.. Truly incredible.

Re: Jay Walker is full of $#!+
The good Jay brings to the table outweighs the less than good.
In geo terms, his Louisiana fandom outweighs his Connecticut normalcy. :)

I admit I have never listened to Prather's show and had given up on the local sports radio scene due to lack of Cajun coverage; it's been all RaginReview podcast for me this season, however today the BWK drama got me to listen to the radio replay online at work.

Re: Jay Walker is full of it
I don't think any other school PXP guy does radio interviews like this. I could be wrong though. I don't think they publicly do social media either except maybe twitter. I doubt any publicly do Facebook. Probably best that they don't. I dunno.

Jay probably should not have done what he did and I suspect that he will get a slap on the wrist at his current gig.
Knowing those with which he is dueling, sorry to say I understand.
While I am always for any fan to bring it however they want, in what medium they want, and at what level they want, I am equally for whatever wrath comes their way as they have usually earned it.

MelRock has a weekly podcast with a Play by Play guy from another school.
Some of them get around.

What occurred today is probably the reason they don't & while I am being highly critical of Jay about this particular subject which has been eating at my craw for years. I do respect & applaud the guy for at least going out & cheering on the program his way. But the fans are not the enemy of the program. Unfortunately the attitude that Jay has toward the fan base is prevalent throughout much of the university structure. Ever since the first time set foot in the alumni hall at the school, I could feel the disdain & lack of trust by the blue bloods toward me back when nobody knew me from Adam & the circle of influencers at the school was maybe 25 people? That same mistrust is still as prevalent today as it was when Ray was running things 30 years ago.
I thought it started to be broken during the Hudspeth era, but that is gone & things are right back to where they always were. Unfortunately, I don't think it's ever gonna change in my life time. I've learned a lot about why most of the people on this site hate the place across the swamp. But they need to check out the enemy within the structure & where their loyalties lie as well.
