Simple. Baton Rouge is an LSU town. Lafayette is also an LSU town.

Guaranty doesn't own WBRZ; the Manship Family does. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Manships sent down orders to the newsroom to add the "at Lafayette."

Seriously people. That station should be run out of town. They have publicly stated now that they couldn't care less about this university, its alumni, or its fans.
F 'em. A million times, F 'em.

Oh yeah, “The Manship School of Journalism”. They were neck deep in the ‘84 name fight too.
Guaranty still owns WAFB?

Hard to run a business out of town for being pro-LSU/anti-UL in an 80/20 LSU/UL town.
The first thing you see entering Lafayette from the West is Don’s flying the LSU flag directly above the UL flag. That sentiment is woven into the fabric of this city.
Re: 103.7 The Game to become new ESPN affiliate for Lafayette and Lake Charles
Until the politically designed ULS, a system way larger than the LSU system, quits infighting and unites behind the only R1 university in the system and each university kicks their local legislators in the nuts to get their attention, nothing will ever change.
Re: 103.7 The Game to become new ESPN affiliate for Lafayette and Lake Charles
Look you don’t have to love us, but if you want to work and succeed in this area you should at least respect this University.

The don’t go to Don’s. And go tell them why.

I had a conversation with the WBRZ director personally on Saturday. Very close to the family and you wouldn’t believe the stuff he has to deal with when they use UL or Louisiana. It’s not just from fans. It’s from the LSU board and many politicians. They have been threatened multiple times. So when the Cajuns beat lsu in baseball and KATC used UL Lafayette instead of Louisiana like they normally do, they rightfully got called out and all the lsu fans mocked and criticized Cajuns fans for pointing out the issue. Yet here we are with this blatant hypocrisy and disrespect. Who are the petty ones now?
