Its no coincidence, black is the cheapest to manufacture. Vermilion among the most expensive, historically at least.
Since black is not an official school color, they could just change it to black and whatever; like the dirtbags did.:D

For me personally my school is “vermillion and white” always has been. The school I went to has never to this day, listed black as one of its school colors. I have never owned a black ragin Cajuns shirt and never will unless they change school colors. That’s just me.
