I think that the coaches like recruiting the major areas like houston and the cities in florida mainly because of how big those cities are. In a city of a couple million, its more likily that a good D1 recruit falls through the cracks and a smaller school like UL has a chance to land some of that talent. Case in point would be Brandon Cox who slipped through the cracks when he moved to texas for his senior season of HS from Pittsburgh. As an LSU fan you will understand this, you go for the best possible player regardless of where they are from. Its nice to sign LA players but if our staff can find a player in Texas or Florida they feel is better more power to them.Quote:

Plus, most D1 prospects in Louisiana are committed to LSU from the time they're in the womb. It's a little more plausible to go to Florida and Texas and get any guys that fall through the cracks, and when you can get a Tyrell Fenroy from Louisiana, you savor the opportunity.
