I recorded the game and went look at the fumble. As someone here pointed out, the runner did not have his hands on the ball just prior to hitting the ground. The refs got it right.

They are saying on the Miami forum that the replay official was an ex Miami coach who was fired in 2009....

Camera view from endzone shows this. Arm comes back over ball as he hits ground. All other angles make it appear that he has control of ball till contact with ground.

What an experience in Mobile at the bowl game. Cajun fans showed up. So did Miami fans.
The University and Alumni Association pulled off an awesome pep rally and Tailgate.
What a way to cap off this historic season. Congrats to the university, players, and Coaches. Can’t wait until next year.

The fumble...runner's left arm away from body, right arm against runner's body, ball sitting loose on runner's belly, back not on ground. Butler put helmet right on the ball. Excellent reversal. Sorry, can't rotate pic.

Those two clown announcers never put the other angle picture in play, the runner’s right lower arm was behind his hip before hitting the ground. That’s why the ball flew out, momentum of his body’s spin. And that’s why the RB hustled after the ball, he knew. Miami has no grounds to complain.
