I know that since you played athletics you realized the importance of sticking up for your teammates as well. Also, I think anyone who is questioning Grants Fleming's dedication to this program is silly. He was one of the few top flight local athletes to actually suit up and play for this program when he had opportunities elsewhere. _
I played athletics also, and Grant shouldn't be worried about the fans. His team was in the process of getting skull drug across the field and he told me "it's just a game". How about, he being a leader of the team, getting on his team's back just like me and trying to get them to play better. That's what a leader does. A leader doesn't talk to fans, he gets his team to play better.

The rest of your post might be 100% ok, but for this part alone...you're a jackass.

I agree Grant should have just ignored you.

I may have been out of line, but it's true. I explained to the people behind me that it's an endless circle. We need money for scholarships, but where does the money come from without the boosters? Obviously, it doesn't come from our HUGE athletic budget.

In the games he has sat out, pretty sure I have seen him in the middle of huddles during timeouts and first one to congratulate players coming off the field. Am I the only one to notice that?

Actually, the money for scholarships absolutely comes from the athletics budget.
It is an NCAA violation for the money to come from anywhere else.
Although like I said, the same thing has happened to me, so I understand the frustration.

I understand and even agree with your frustration. But holding your money above someone else's head after you've given it to them is still not cool.
When you give money to the athletic program, why are you doing it? To be rewarded with success? Is that your right? And if you don't see success, does that give you a right to yell that a player? Nope.

I do expect success when I give money to the program. Would you invest in a company and be happy if they fail? I have stated it before, and I stand by my statement, we need to quit treating these players like pee wee players! They are adults, not kids! As long as we are not vulgar and talk down to a player, we are not out of line. In the case of #44, I told him that "we" expect more out of him and to show us that he is better than they way he is playing. He then went on to play much better.

He said that I should go on the fid and try, and I td him that if it wasn't for people like me, he wouldn't have a scholarship. I told him that he is better than what he is showing and we expect more. Then the mom started screaming at me and I told her that this is not a high school and if she can't take it, then she can go with her son.
I once again was never vulgar and Father asked me to calm down and I did for a while. Then, Grant Fleming, who I have the utmost respect for, turned to me and said "it's just a game". I understand that, but when you are a D1 athlete getting a free education, it's not just a game. Maybe if the Cajuns treat this as more than a game, we won't get embarrassed like norma to an 0-26 team.

Dude, if that was you in the black shirt and brown shorts with your kid, you deserve to get your ass kicked by #44! The behavior you displayed tonight in front of your own kid is ridiculous! You didn't think that those kids felt bad enough about the game, that the needed some jackass screaming at them in front of his own kid? I don't care how embarrassed, frustrated, how much money you paid for your tickets, or how passionate a Cajun fan you are, you totally made an ass of yourself tonight. You crossed the line in my book sitting amongst parents, a member of the clergy and several other idiotic fans screaming at players. Calling out coaches in one thing, but to have our own fans scream some of the things I heard tonight at the athletes on the sideline is pathetic and disgraceful. Yell at the coaches all you want, but don't call out athletes that have played their guts out for this program for four years.

Careful with how you say that. This doesn't exactly line up to a typical business model, because the players aren't employees. If one of your employees isn't meeting expectations, you fire them. But if a player isn't meeting expectations, do you pull a scholarship? No.
So as in investor in the athletic department, you have every right to be frustrated. But do you have a right to yell that at a student athlete during the game? No. And that has nothing to do with "treating these players like pee wee players."
