False: most people in our area only had access to wgn, tbs, and the saturday game of the week at that time.

So lets say the reds played the cubs and braves 10 times each then were on game of the week 10 times (which is generous)
So barely 30 games a year is all most could have seen him

Having grown up as an Astro fan, I watched enough of Pete Rose to last a lifetime. I continued to watch him when he signed with Philly. I hated him, he was a cocky sob spiking the baseball, after every 3rd out while playing defense. He played the game hard and he was great on base and hit for contact with over 3K hits. He was a HOF player period. Add an asterisk or a plaque under his bust in the HOF noting his gambling, I don't care. One such mention doesn't take away his accomplishments on the field. His character is another matter.

He was the Ty Cobb of more modern baseball. Players hated him and hated to play against him.

Guess his was the unpardonable sin. Die first then maybe we’ll forgive you. If it was unpardonable it’s still unpardonable. We are so silly.

I always remember it being referred to as a lifetime ban. So seems self explanatory that it wouldnt apply anymore... seems it was a permanent ban however, not sure why they werent clearer.

Today would he even get a tryout? No class D for him to get his start. He didnt finish HS ball because of grades i believe, probably wouldnt be on a travel ball team, so would his career even exist
