I think this is a perfect hire just look at UTEP and UCF football coaches.

No baggage he has been cleared..........has great resume', big name, If he leaves in 3 or so years but has attendance back around 7,000+ and back into the NCAA tourney a time or 2, then UL will be that much more attractive and UL will have that much MORE money to attract a simular coach or better!!!!!

Floyd's best days were at UNO. He hasn't lived up to expectations at any place that he's coached since he left there. He has name recognition, but at this stage of his career, he is average at best.

Some of u guys r unbelievable. Who do u suggest??

He had a couple of NCAA appearances at Iowa State and USC [neither noted as a basketball power], and even won at Idaho.

Floyd's average at best? Hmmm...Maybe we can steal that thomas fellow from that florida school... Can't wait till this is over. Geez

I'm not a big fan of the BIG BANG Theory in coaching hires.

However, if you are going that route I can't think of anyone better than Tim Floyd.

Turb. I agree with you. I also think that D. Walker may think along those same lines. I would still be very surprised if T. Floyd is the coach at UL next year.

If Floyd has been cleared, it is news to me. Who is your source on that report. I would have thought that a story he has been cleared would attract quite a bit of attention from the conventional media.

Disagree. You want a coach who will come in and stay a long time and build some continuity with this program. With Floyd hes gone in 3 years. With Butch you have that chance for him to be here 8-10 years.
