Indeed. If it were Selection Monday tomorrow ... with the typical two stolen bids ... Coastal Carolina would not be in the field of 64.
And as you note, they are at risk of not qualifying for the Sun Belt Tournament. Though ... I still think their odds are strongly in their favor. Coastal is a full game in front of Texas State with the Bobcats finishing at home vs. Troy and on the road at Southern Mississippi. That is a difficult road for Texas State ... while Coastal finishes at home vs. Georgia State and on the road at Marshall. Marshall would need a sweep vs. Coastal and keep up with Coastal next week (Marshall is at JMU). Not likely.
We could easily see Coastal in the Wednesday quarterfinals.

Before the season started, I would certainly take where we are now ... two game lead with two conference weekends remaining. One on the road vs. one of the contenders (Georgia Southern) and one at home vs. 11-13 T8th South Alabama.
It will be yet another weekend where we are facing an opponent contending for the top of the Sun Belt and are in striking range. Georgia Southern is three games back ... tied with Southern Miss for third place ... one game back of 2nd place Troy. The target continues to be on the Cajuns' back, week in and week out.
Meanwhile, the season is over for some on this board. :D

Problem is fans did get too high when we ran through the bottom of the belt. Now they’re getting too low when we fight for 3 weeks ( 3 weeks that btw will help us get where we want, iron sharpens iron).
Also, after a rough couple weeks for the pitching staff. Cajuns still 20th in the country in runs allowed per game 4.8 and 8th in the country in hits a game at 7.3. Not bad. Let’s finish strong. Geaux Cajuns

It was a damn good schedule when we all looked at it a few months ago. Who knew Wright State, Rice, LaState, SLU and a couple others would all be down in the same year.

That 1st paragraph is 100 percent right. Concerned about Herrmann and (more so) Langevin. But for the dugout to keep fighting after that kind of meltdown showed a lot.
Geaux Cajuns!!

To the last point, dead on! Haha
This weekend at Ga. Southern will be interesting. If you look at their results against common conference opponents, they’re nearly identical to the Cajuns
They beat S. Miss 2/3
They beat Ark St 2/3
They lost 2/3 to Coastal
And they swept Marshall and ULM
All exactly the same as the Cajuns did.
Other common conference opponent is ODU. The Cajuns swept the Monarchs and Ga Southern lost 2/3
Other series:
Ga. Southern swept Ga. State and got swept by JMU
Cajuns swept Texas St and lost 2/3 to Troy
It should be a good one. I think winning 2/3 over there would be a good result. Cajuns finish at home against S. Alabama, who really struggle offensively. With that series being in Lafayette, I like the Cajuns chances

The last two seasons we got hot at the end. Really hot. We can do it again.

Wait, pump the brakes. I thought the season was “over” for some of you. Again, comical.

Thank you. I came to this thread to read the meltdowns. You did not disappoint.

If that game was a loss today I would feel the season is over. A tie for 1st with 6 to go and Troy has the tie breaker. Rpi and sos not good enough. Winning conference is the only great thing on our resume. Now of course we could win the tourney and get the auto bid. It just would have felt deflating and too much to overcome. Gutsy win by our boys!!! Let’s stay behind them and finish strong.
