Duhhh, so wouldnt espn + be same company as well?

All the mens and womens basketball and all the baseball and softball games are on the radio. Just listen there and you have yur choice. I don't think there are too many schools that have all the football, Mens and Womens basketball, Baseball and Softball on the radio. Why give ESPN money. I really don't understand the issue. Radio is better you can listen to the game and do other things.
Streamed games produce video highlights which also allow outlets like D1 Baseball and 11Point7 to share which gets viewed by hundreds of thousands of eyes and gives us more recognition as a program. The walk-off by Debarge last year against Tulane was viewed by just under 200k people when 11Point7 posted it.
No, they are not prioritizing a game versus Kansas City College...they are likely prioritizing streaming four softball games in two days, three of which are against Houston.
It is a numbers game. They probably want to maximize the number of games they stream, and that is what they are doing this weekend.
Friday: Stream 1 Baseball game (softball is off)
Saturday: Stream 2 Softball games (Kansas City and Houston) as opposed to 1 baseball game
Sunday: Stream 2 Softball games (Houston and Houston) as opposed to 1 baseball game
I dont think some of you understand the time it takes to set up and take down everything needed for a broadcast with ESPN+ standards. It is time consuming. You cant just broadcast a 1pm softball game and then set everything up at a different venue for a baseball game. It doesnt work like that.
If you don't like it...donate more so that another truck can be purchased, and so more students can be trained.
Or just show up.
I have long suspected the espn top 10 list were not the actual 10, funny in this new era of media transparency they never clarified that it was only the top 10 that they had the video for and there could be other plays that were better
Does alabama football have to pay for their espn set ups and trucks?
Yet their fans view it "free" while our fans have to pay an additional subscription, so we are paying twice it seems
Not sure if UL has the equipment to be set up multi sites the same day. If the equipment is available, I think student interns like some universities use for on air talent would be the way to go. However, that might put the administration in a decision bind…free on air talent versus total control.
At least the equipment set up should be able to be students
Will the 3:00 Baseball game tomorrow still be on the +?
Im a radio head.
Jay hear me out on this one. I will tell you where I disagree with you.
Every baseball game has replay cameras which means it is being videoed. They should stream every single game inside the stadium if not on ESPN+.
The most expensive seats in the stadium are the press box suites by a far margin. When there is no streaming the sofa, 2 chairs and big screen TV become useless. You’ve got 20 people trying to sit in 12 stadium seats and crowd by a window to see the ball game. At that point a suite ticket becomes as valuable as a seat in the stands and the people are getting screwed and not getting all the amenities they paid for.
The 2nd most expensive ticket are those with stadium club access. Same thing goes, if women, children or the elderly want to get out of the weather and still see the game, that stadium club access they paid good money for becomes useless when the game is not streaming.
I have never been inside of any premium seats for softball but I can assure you when the game is not streaming inside of Russo park your top contributors are getting short changed and are not getting what they paid for.
Curious about this because we were talking about it during the game yesterday.
Where are the replay cameras setup?
Guess prior to yesterday's game, I always assumed the ESPN+ cameras served as replay cameras. Without ESPN+ yesterday, we questioned the angles that were available for replay. I really thought Wright was safe at 2nd on the steal. Hell of a play if the SS did actually make the tag while 3ft in the air.
We did see a very small camera behind home plate in the grandstand. Hard to believe that camera had the resolution to be used for any sort of replay. I also believe that the trackman system has video built into it on the batter and pitcher (please correct me if I'm wrong on that). Outside of those options, we could not spot any other camera.
There are 5 softball weekend home series when baseball is out of town or doesn’t play and 2 mid week games that don’t conflict. Thats 17 games right there with no conflict. That right there would be plenty enough games to stream for soft ball without missing any baseball. JMO
When we can't do an ESPN+ broadcast let's just have a fan with a nice camera set-up to livestream the game. I'm sure some RP posters could provide some fun color commentary. Every youth baseball tournament I go to has the players' parents live streaming the game.
