Changed in what way? If I believe he's coming? According to a source in the building I verified they were contacted. That source said it was not a done deal. He has to enter the portal and once it opens, he can transfer. I haven't changed my mind that if he comes, he will be the guy. I believe competition will take care of that regardless of opinions. Walker is a very talented QB, I don’t think anyone can question that.
I’m on record as being in the Beale is the future of the program. But Howard will only have 2 left to play and could give Beale more time to develop and truly be a star here.
Either way, Des has learned that sticking with one guy is the way forward.
Enough of this, we are still a month from signing day.

If memory serves me correct, Jamie’s career coincided with some lightly-recruited kid from Breaux bridge that ended up coming here and playing in a Super Bowl.

Don't put words in my mouth. I suggested no such thing. I'm only answering the statement from an earlier post that suggested a donation from Jaime Howard would help his cause. As I stated, the competition of the field will decide it. And Desormeaux is not the type of Coach to be persuaded by a contribution.

With bringing it up, someone close to the Walker family told me this as well this weekend. Sounds like it is in Des court whether or not he wants him here. I heard there was somethings that may have to be discussed stemming back to when Des was a high school coach. But it was defiantly made clear it was a competition and not going to be given to one.

I'll go ahead and put the high school stuff out there since that was the years of musical chairs by Louisiana quarterbacks. Word on the street back then was that they were looking for a high school to attend. Remember, Caleb Holstein was at STM with younger brother Eli also enrolled at STM. Howard allegedly went to AES with an offer that Walker would enroll if a certain list of players would also be admitted to AES. They were told no so Walker ends up at STM and Eli Holstein ends up at Zachary. Des hasn't changed his mindset since then, nobody is promised a spot & the player that gives us the best chance to win will play.
