Don’t you worry, the Rebounders Club will keep him around.

Another 3 years.

Re: New team same result Cajuns Basketball
So... with the push for attendance.. how did it translate? Could you see a significant upturn in crowd?
And with the loss, how do you think it will effect the home game Saturday?

When u have a player like JB you structure your game plan around him , however it wasn’t the style of BB we are built to play
This year will be a better defensive unit . Offense will be Athletic and possibly avg more pts per game than last year
2 key things . This roster can take the ball to the hole so free throws will be important
. Rebound by committee. The ability to knock down the corner three will be the big thing , if we can do that . Look out !!
SB will be tough but expect to see us in the post season
We are LOUISIANA
Man, I hope you are right; but I just don't see it. We lost 2 great inside players and an exceptional 3 point shooter from last year and it doesn't look like we've come close to replacing any of that. I just see us being average at best. Hope I'm wrong....

Definitely the largest and loudest crowd of the year. It was a good atmosphere; very fun. With decent promotion, this should be the basement.

Attendance was 2,300

It should be the basement, but in reality it’s the ceiling under Bob this late in his tenure.

I guessed around 2700 at the game. Loud and into it but should be at least double that on a Thursday. Triple that on a Saturday for a “top 25” team. It was fun for a bit. I thought we’d win by 7-10 points before the game. We should have won by that much. They had 19 turnovers and we missed some free throws. One positive I can see is we started 0-2 in conference last year and made a pretty good run after that. Not the same team but this conference is there for the taking.

Marlin could win the conference and the conference tournament and you will not be satisfied. Oh he did!!

Re: New team same result Cajuns Basketball
I thought the crowd was great, especially if it was really only 2300.
Curious -- since we're playing in a 12k stadium, is there any way we can light only the court and lower bowl, similar to Lakers games?

And yet, we are only averaging 1,850 through 5 home games. It's not just him, it's the entire fanbase outside of a few.

Probably due to liability.

He’s below the Mendoza line as a HC. 19 game home win streak with 6 of those against non D1 programs.
He earned his extension and after this season he will have earned the reason to fire him.
But, people like you and the rebounders club who constantly get on your knees to defend him.

I was actually thinking about this when people mention doing the light shows before/during football games in the new stadium..
Martin Hall's first thought has to be: "How are people going to be able to see the stairs!?"

The lights are brutal and it’s hot in that building. I have to wear a hat to blind the lights and by the time I walk out I’m flushed red. First year lights were great.

Re: New team same result Cajuns Basketball
I was a 10+ year season ticket holder and gave up on Big Fish some time back. I even told them when they called about my renewal. As far as fan experience goes, softball is hard to beat. I love going to those games. Basketball always felt like a chore. At least we would get BJs pizza before the game.

In the Cajundome at least there are red led lights on the stairs themselves. They work well when the dome is dark for concerts

Re: New team same result Cajuns Basketball
I’m sorry some of y’all missed the great Lamar and Tony games. The Brad Boyd era was always exciting. Never forget EricMouton team. Then again we get 14 seasons of Bobby Ball

I feel like they have stepped it up this year with the fan experience for basketball. Everyone I have brought has said they want to come back. But the PA announcer is kinda corny and pretty obnoxious. I guess that’s what he’s there for.
