Proves itself? Lol The defense will be the strength of this football team.

. . . proof is in the eye of the beholder . . . then they play the games . . . then it is in the video and results . . . I'm going with RR for now . . .

If we have to "pull away late" to win this game by only 10 or 11 points, fans may have to buckle in for a LONG season.
Our defense with the strength of our team last year, with an almost completely new defense on the field and what I saw from the open practice, I'm going to reserve my expectations until we see a few solid performances before I get excited about a successful season.
I like having Ben behind what should be an improved O-Line, but we also have a talent difference at Wide Receiver than what we will have to improve so the RB's will have to carry the load for a little while. I hope we come out and make a statement, but until we see them on the field Saturday, my expectations are limited. Our conference mates are making talent strides while I think we have some holes to fill.

Any word on Lance Legendre?

FIFY.
Defense is young. Cajuns by less than a TD. Hope I’m wrong.
Unless it’s a blowout or injury, absolutely want to see one QB the whole way. Start that 2 QB mess like last year, we’re in trouble.

52-14 Cajuns.
We better win big, NWst is not very good.

We lost 50% of the 2 deep from the team last year and 83% of them were starters. I'm not saying we will be bad. But for me to think we are as talented as last year seems a bit of stretch at this point, I hope I am wrong.
-
Re: Score prediction vs Northwestern St.
a lot to a little and most of the starters will be resting by the end of the 3rd quarter
-
Re: Score prediction vs Northwestern St.
38-3 Cajuns don’t open up either offensive or defensive playbook but win easily anyway

. . . it’s college, everybody loses a lot of players . . . and how much are we going to whine about losing players from a 6 and 7 team . . .

My guess/predictions are always in jest. I do not care as long as we win.

With the lack of enthusiasm surrounding the program, style point matter. The first three weeks are important.

Re: Score prediction vs Northwestern St.
176-3 Cajuns. Demons kick a last-second 27 yard FG to avoid the shutout.

You're not wrong. We lost a lot of talent off that defense last year. I'm sure we have some talent in depth but much of it is unproven. I'm worried about LB this year. The concern is warranted.

Everyone on that depth chart still with the team lettered. Lots of reps coming back...

And I see a lot of issues trying to replace guys like Garror, Jones, Pedescleaux, Amos, AJ Riley and Moncrief.

We say that every year. Generally we don’t have a problem replacing talent, but it takes great talent to equal quality experience.
In CMD I trust and he exudes confidence in his defense.

Re: Score prediction vs Northwestern St.
We have a conference game the following week. Vanilla is the flavor on both sides of the ball. 27-10. Cajuns
