Granted the center court logo was large and irregular shaped, but she jacked a few shots and made them with a foot on the logo.

Next year I’d expect defenders to be rotated out and pick her up in the backcourt

Go watch a season of women's games and compare. That LSU-Iowa game was not the norm. Women's games are generally lower scoring and the sport is very top heavy. It's really not even a comparison. LSU averaged 5 made 3 pointers a game for the season. That was not the norm.

BTW, the men's game was well played with good defense. If you had seen SDSU play at all you'd know they're one of the best defensive teams in the country and win in the 50's and 60's. UCONN is a highly skilled team that was very deep.

Kyle may be on to something here. If the powers that be in the NCAA and the WNBA are smart, they use this game as a launching point to grow the game beyond its diehard fans. The Angel Reese/Caitlin Clark rivalry could be women's basketball's version of Magic vs. Bird, but that rivalry will only propel WBB to mass popularity if the sports leaders, especially the WNBA once the they go pro, market the hell out of the two. The sport already got a major boost this year with a weekly Sunday game on ABC. Sunday's game could be an even bigger catalyst to the sport's popularity.

Will WBB ever become more popular than MBB? I don't know. For now, the priority for game's coaches and administrators is now to worry about eclipsing the men's game. Rather, that priority should be to continue growing the sport.

Its equivelant to a UL football game, you can't expect crowds witbout promotion year round.

In this case that's what happens to interest, when you Pimp the 5 all year and don't promote anything else.

Can't expect interest in a game that you spent zero time all year promoting the participants.

Someone said earlier that WBB is very top heavy. That can't be emphasized enough as many people don't realize how severe that problem is . There is a huge dropoff after the top 10 teams in America to the next level. You can't build the sport until that changes. Otherwise no one pays attention until the Final 4.

There’s UCONN, ND, usually about 3 SEC teams, Baylor, TOSU, Iowa, Stanford. The winner usually comes from half that bunch.

Louisville, Miami, Texas, UCLA, Ole Miss and a few of the “you’re telling me there’s a chance” crowd.

After that forget it.

If anyone thinks WBB is a great draw, explain why the first rounds are hosted on campus by the highest seed? Easy, not enough interest.
