They should have never spent the money to do the swamp scene. Whats wrong with a regular floor.

When I first saw the swamp scene online, it looked like the court was undergoing repairs. Then I did a double take.

The swamp scene was a mistake. They realized it early. I'd be willing to bet there was some private fund raising to fix it as it never looked right. They wanted to make the cajundome floor unique like Boise St in football and they did for all the wrong reasons.

Kudos to them for fixing it.

Why can't we raise private dollars to buy games?

FYI - A little research and it appears the standard cost for totally refinishing a floor is between 10-15K and is recommended to be done every 5-10 years depending upon usage and wear. Normal maintenance typically runs around 3.5-4K and is recommended to be done annually.

So fairly inexpensive in the whole scope of things.

On a semi related note, saw on another site a disucssion of ESPN Gameday never going to a G5 program. I then got to thinking, doesn't matter, old Lou would never pick us to win since we have no mascot head.

It is the exact same floor without the swamp image. Instead of black around the court, it is now red. This is not that big of a deal.

We need a big RP and RCA push to put pressure on the admin to do this. They obviously watch this board now they need to feel the pressure.
