Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Legitimate question. Why is it so hard for us to find a kickoff specialist that can just blast it into/out of the endzone on every kickoff? It’s college, so he would have a roster spot, and he doesn’t even have to do anything else. I know guys that can do that aren’t dime a dozen, but they also aren’t incredibly rare. Easiest way to cover a kick is to not let the return happen in the first place. I’ve never understood why we can’t find a kid that can do that

If we decided to move to a True Freshman this week, we are quitting on this season and looking to the future.

Not to mention, guess what, if he shows to be a game changer, he is gone this off-season just like Ben.

Well that should never prevent us from getting a young guy some experience. However, we still have the season in front of us conference schedule wise, and the West, with the exception of maybe TX State, hasn’t looked impressive so far this season. This team was never a CFP contender anyway, so roll with Ben and see if we can win games in the West. If at some point during the season we’ve already got 2 Ls vs West opponents, then yeah…it’s time to see what we have at QB for next season.

Jay and CMD Coach's Show was very encouraging last night. You get a glimpse of what make Des such a good football coach, with his brief interaction/discussion with Bill Davis and Jaden Dugger. Very genuine and personable. That's the kind of stuff we can't really see from the stands as fans, that someone like Dr. Maggard sees on a daily basis.
I really hope he can put together a special season for the rest of the season, because I want him to succeed.

Desormeaux is a very cerebral coach.

Oh come on
We are 2-1 man. We lost to a good Tulane team. So you think we should nuke the season with that start and all of our goals still in front of us in hopes that we get the freshman ready for next year? How will we even know what type of team and season we're prepping him for? We may lose a ton of players. You don't do that to all the seniors who have put in the time in this program especially when you have no idea what type of team you'll have next year.

I don’t think so. Either KC or kibodi is on the field at a time.
If they want them on the field together I guess kibodi has a second helmet without coms.

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
Just re watched the game. Ugh frustrating. There was a blatant face mask on Ben on the last grounding call. I don’t know how they miss that. Almost ripped his helmet off.
I have a rules question. If a face mask would have been called. Would the grounding still be a penalty? Offsetting replay the down? Seems like the grounding should be nullified since it occurred after the FM.

Offsetting and replay the down. Both are during the play.

The refs helped us out on a 3rd down or two with PI calls against Tulane, so the we zebras were a wash. We lost that game because of other issues.

Making obvious calls vs missing obvious calls aren’t equal.

The refs didn't help us with the PI calls, they were all legit. Missing a blatant face mask is inexcusable. The white hat ref looked lost most of the game.

Just my viewpoint…not all the PI calls were obvious. So we’ll have to disagree.
Refs didn’t cost us this game, not one single bit.

I didn’t blame the refs. But he blew that face mask call at a crucial point in the game.
And if Ben’s face mask isn’t grabbed maybe there never is a grounding.

This was the kickoff returned for a touchdown.

Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Tulane
I’ve looked at this a few times. His knee may have cleared the ground. There is an ever so small line of green there. This game was ours for the taking though.
