I think my response was to a comment about putting in bids for regionals/supers prior to the season.

Or is the University pursuing a loan of $14 million because there is only $3 million available for a $17 million project?
My guess: $14,000,000; secured by a combination of moneys pledged, not yet received, and the good credit of the U.
Not a big deal, except that it should have been done months ago.

Man, that's a really good question that should be easily communicated to people who want info on the project.

I think you might be mistaken here.
What did Scott tell you?

Fair enough. Hell, yeah, a conversation we should have had.
I'm gonna suggest this.
Originally a $10 million project.
There was $5-6 million raised from various folks. Russo agreed to match with $5 million in incremental payments.
This put us at about $7 million. 70% of the original cost.
And the University was gonna have to get a loan to pay Lemoine in the interim.
Cost went up to somewhere between $17 an $21 million. Is this additional $$$ what the University is now scrambling to get?

The $17M number was not mentioned at any of the meetings I attended even up to the end of the season. The last number I remember mentioned was $11M for the stadium, other than a separate project for a new club house.

The cost was not $10 million, that has been clear since December when Coach Robichaux presented the drawings to us in the Diamond Club Fall Social. The final approval from the Dr. Savoie on the renderings we were shown was around $16 mil or $17 million. The addition of the brick façade for the entire grandstand and adjacent bleachers on both sides was an additional $3 million. The other cost included building concessions on both levels rather than waiting until 2018 to complete the other concessions area as stated on the LeMoine web site. The original plans estimate was $10 million, but the discussion of more cost became public back in fall.
