No, Obama just pulled a Jimmy Carter. As soon as he is gone, we will be back in Iraq to protect the civilians he left totally unprotected and vulnerable over there.
15 minutes from now I will clock out and bid adieu to Lafayette and ramble down 90 to NOLA. I will let Bart Scott give you my thoughts...Attachment 5962
about 12:30 for me.
@BOP -
The one thing that I dont get and Jay, you've mentioned it on your radio show a few times, is that you say each conference sends as many crews as they got bowl invites. The fundamental problem with that is that 70 teams got invited to 35 bowl games. That would mean 70 officiating crews for 35 games. Since they dont have 2 crews working each game, I'm assuming it actually goes by ratios, or gets cut in half basically, in order to keep equal representation by conferences in bowls.
So the SBC with 3 invites would send either 1 or 2 crews to games. A conference with 8 teams in games would send 4 crews and the total would come out to 35 officiating crews.
Make any sense or is that wrong?
Why are we doing a story about UL and San Diego State and this guy is wearing purple and gold. the Advertiser photographer, should have told him to change or no photo. the Advertiser, GEEZ, No common sense.
Trigger, post your thoughts on the coverage for those of us who will be in the Superdome, s'il vous plais! In return, we promise to yell like hell for the Cajun faithful who are unable to make it to the game! You all will be there in spirit with us! Merci beau coups!
I-10 is closed in both directions at metairie rd due to a fatal accident. News just reported it could be 4 hours before it reopens. If your heading to the cbd or french quarter you might want to take 610 around town and come back in from the east. If you are coming in on 90 stay on the westbank expressway and use the crescent city connection if your on I-10 coming in from B.R. it might not be a bad idea to take 310 over to 90 as well.
For a long time I would have agreed with you, but I can tell you that when I was there from 2007-2008 our need combat troops there was dwindling rapidly. The Sunni tribes had woken up and finally started pushing the al Qaeda threat out of al Anbar province.
Now the secular tension in Baghdad was still somewhat heated, but from everything I've heard, it's calmed down significantly.
When I left, our forces were preparing to pull out of the cities to switch to a purely support role for the Iraqi military and police. If we hadn't passed the torch on to the Iraqis, they'd still be depending on us to take care of everything for them.
Zee, if you haven't left yet, just take 90, then the Westbank Expressway straight into town.
Justice, I don't disagree. But I don't think it is stable enough in the region to leave thousands of US civilians there unprotected by the US military.
Playing in their home state will be a nice edge for the Ragin' Cajuns, who will have a clear advantage in crowd support. But that won’t be enough to stop all of SDSU’s weapons.
You would think that the network coving the game would get its fact straighter.
Louisiana went 6-5 in 2005 as well.
Sorry guys you are all wrong it's 1 day 7 hours 24 minutes
Are you guys doing the math in your head? Impressive. Can somebody teach me?
The Sports Illustrated CFB Blog just posted the FAQ on the NOLA Bowl today. You can find it here (and yes, we're referred to as Louisiana the whole time):

Geaux Cajuns!
Just wanted to mention this, I remember back in 2008 when we were skipped over on selection day when we all felt we were locked into a bowl game. Even at the last hour, we were set to be sent to Houston when everything fell through. I used the analogy that selection day was like waking up on Christmas morning to find out what we got, only to find out we got a lump of coal. That makes tomorrow that much sweeter. I know some of yall have been around for a lot longer, but since I became a student in 02, that was the worst day I've dealt with as a fan, and tomarrow will be a new high for me. SEE YALL IN NOLA!
