Defense and hustle will always be something we can control, so that is very encouraging. In the past, we’ve been streaky offensively. I wouldn’t say that’s what happened last night. I think the most impressive things were A) you didn’t shoot well and won by a lot B) when crunch time rolled around, the entire team seemed to have kicked their play into overdrive.

We can play better on offense. We must have missed 10 to 12 shots within 3 feet of the goal. Jordan brown will be doubled most nights. He struggled offensively the whole first half. Defensively, we looked salty.

How was the crowd and atmosphere? Sounded loud on the radio.

Crowd was about 1/3 full in their gym. Cajun fans numbered about 30.

The facility was a step back in time. 3/4 of it was bench seating. It will rank near the bottom in the SBC.

Positives: they sold beer and free parking was only a quarter mile away. Atmosphere was great when USM made their comeback. Fans were into the game. Look forward to coming back.

That gargle works best if swallowed when done!

It was a good OOC win. Not sure how good USM will be, but they’re future conference mates and it was on the road. I haven’t looked at the past schedules, but it feels like these early season OOC games against regular joe teams were just ones we’d lose.

It’s weird. Back in the early 90’s, their budget was double ours.
