Looking for a parking spot on UL's campus? The answer to that question is usually laughable.
But starting at 6 a.m. Monday, 400 spots will be available in the university's first parking garage on the corner of St. Mary and Taft streets.
The $6 million project has been under construction for the past two years after delays, including a redesign because of rising construction costs.
Even after it was built, the garage faced more delays - most recently the installation of more than 40 security cameras.

Parking has been tagged the most annoying burden for students on campus - at least those not fortunate enough to win the parking and transit office's lottery for a parking permit.
In 2002, students voted to increase their parking and transit fee to help fund a garage - the university's first.
The campus does provide parking in two pay lots on the main campus, but getting into the lot can mean a wait. And often, the lot adjacent to the Student Union is reserved for events.
The new garage has safety features with more than 40 monitored security cameras and 13 "code-blue" phones that have direct connections to the University Police dispatch.
Last month, the opening was delayed pending a visit from the state fire marshal.
Construction was delayed in part because of rising construction costs. At one point, the cost of steel skyrocketed so much the project went back to the drawing board to scale back the proposed five-story structure to four-stories.
The wait is over - but it comes at a cost - a $1 an hour.
But it's cheaper than the $20 parking fine for poaching a spot.
