Let's just move on to NMSU. There's too much to analyze and be frustrated about with last night's game. I say we beat the Aggies. They have absolutely no defense, and removing the 4 OTs from last night, our D played well.

Now if we find a way to lose that one? Well...just don't lose that one. Please.

Move on? You think we should just pack up this clown show and bring it to the next town? BS. We need to give our football players a day off... out of hearing range... and take this coaching staff to the woodshed. That could very well have been one of the worst orchestrated coaching clown shows in modern college football. Do you think a high school defense would let our receivers get behind them, in the red zone, on 4 consecutive drives? Do you think a high school coach would run a RB up the middle, directly into the awaiting box of defenders, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over... you get the picture? Hud is thick between the ears. Did you see him throw a fit about running Eli into the pile for 3 consecutive runs for no gain? Over and over. Did you see him turn on the staff? No. You saw him wanting to get back under a bench and show Fritz he can out bench him. Hud is thick. And he isn't going to think he isn't.

Have you ever dealt with someone you've told 20 times to stop pounding a square peg in a round hole? Try paying that person $1 million and treating him like a rock star. Do you think he's going to stop pounding a square peg in a round hole... because you and 10,000 other people tell him it's stupid? No. He's just going to pound harder. That's what thick people do.

You can only hope New Mexico State sucks in every other aspect of football, except coaching, for a Hud coached team to squeak out the more athletic plays and be winning by a few points before the clock runs out. If you think NMS is concerned about being "out coached"... laughable.

The game did not come down to turnovers. Tulane play calling and defensive front 7 for the Cajuns bailed the team out.

And for the guy that said it was Oline issues, WRs and Jennings were not on the same page all night long. Some of it was pressure and injuries, but to completely scrap the passing game after a pick? You gotta be kidding me..

The game did come down to turnovers. All of our turnovers led them to have the ball inside of our 25, or at least three of them did. That led to just about all of their points in regulation. I was suggesting we as fans move on. Sure, the coaches need to look at that game film and have some serious look at how they went from dominating the first quarter to coaching themselves out of win. Tulane defense does need to be given a bit a credit.

We know what happened, we saw the game, I'm just happy I never have to watch the film. Yes, fans can move on. Coaches and the team have some work ahead of them.

Please God don't let Elijah be injured

It is very obvious that we are a one-dimensional team. Elijah has a great game and the rest of the offense opens up. Without him this team is nothing. I have come to the conclusion that we are what we are and nothing else. We are not a step above any team in this conference. I will enjoy what we have for now. A win, well, rah, rah, rah......a lost so what, tomorrow is another day.

The game was not decided by turnovers. Holding offenses to 3 after giving them the ball in their own redzone 3 times is not only s defensive victory, but a momentum swing as well. Those stands should have propelled us. If you count the blocked punt, we only won the turnover battle by 1 anyway.

Some positives from the game:

Kicking game improved.
Less Penalties.
Tackling is better.
Special teams play.

Negatives:
Turnovers
Safeties buying the run every time. Every. Time. That is on the player.


The only thing I blame on the coaches is the play calling. Running Eli up the gut 3 ____ing times with (essentially the same play) when we were 2 yards away from scoring, after the blocked punt, is just plain stupid. I understand being conservative from the interceptions, but throw a fade at least on first down. That was the turning point of the game, coming away with 3 instead of 7.

I had to quit watching after that for other reasons, and I didn't see the OT plays but from what I gather more stupidism\conservatism ensued and hence more gnashing and grinding of teeth from the Cajun Nation.

When there are 16 points and 9 of them are scored directly on turnovers and field position you are giving them, Yeah, turnovers are a deciding factor.
