Ok. He's got 2 more weeks to declare so if he hasn't done it yet, he's obviously staying. Got it.
Edit: Would be great to watch next year if he stays, but I just don't see how he doesn't go when he has this much momentum right now. His stock won't be higher next year unless his numbers are definitively better. And if he comes back and the jump shot still isn't fixed, teams will move from 'We can fix his jumper' to 'I don't know if this kid will be able to be a consistent shooter.'
And the wave he's riding from Team USA last summer will be a distant memory.
The LSU guy declared today---does anybody know where his selection would be???
I think he will heed Billy Donovan's advice and stay.
I'm pretty sure, from reading postings made by our own RichmondCajun, that he has up until the draft to declare, which is in June. The April 15th deadline is to remove his name from the draft before the spring signing starts.
He can declare after that which could affect us by not signing someone in the early signing period we may have, but that is not to say we can't sign that person later.
The main idea is that if Elfrid wants to put his name in the mix and gauge what will happen he can do so but has to take his name out of the draft by April 15th if he wants to continue his college eligibility. I think the overall draft deadline is around April 27th
Here is a thought about a young man who has done nothing except be a perfect model for our university. Maybe he tells Marlin I am probably going to accept a shot at the NBA, still not sure, you go ahead and give that LOI to someone, if I stay it will be on my dollar thanks for all your help coach.
Probably would not happen, but if it did I would not be in least bit surprised with him doing it.
