Roughing Brees was an easy call. You can expect it 99% of the time.

I saw a tweet from Mike Periera during the game that it was an obvious roughing call. His initial impact was at the upper part of the shoulder pads, but as the play went through the are went up to around the neck and that's where he pulled him down to the ground.

For a fan base that spent an entire year lambasting the NFL over how sissified it has become...this is a weird time to start agreeing with it.

The Kaepernick call...he was close to the boundary of what the tackle box was. Since the tackle box is arbitrary...they normally give the boundary as outside the tackle box. Plus...it would have been reviewed to check when he started the throwing motion to see if he was all the way in the Endzone. They got that call somewhat right. But they ____ed the dog on the personal foul call.

Hardly...a bit overstated there! Look who's calling others dramatic.

The sports world seems to disagree. Not many calls of these nature are still talked about 24 hours after they happen. That's not drama...it's just a bit of facts.

Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Ben Rothlesberger, Tony Romo, Matt Stafford, Aaron Rogers, Eli Manning, Andrew Luck, or Joe Flacco all get tyhe exact same call in that situation.

If the play looks violent now, it's gonna draw a personal foul.
Ben R rarely gets the roughing calls. Being fairly mobile and big works against you.

This is a good view of the hit in slow motion I saw courtesy of Fox sports. It could be argued that the shoulder did actually hit Brees' head.

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks was assessed a 15-yard personal foul penalty for a violent hit on Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

One San Francisco writer says the Saints won by a 'neck'

Dang! Bress ought to call Morris Bart because I'm sure he got whiplash from that hit. I think the refs made absolutely the right call. BTW I loved the belly dance by the Seahawk player!

This is silly. The rule says you can't hit in the head OR neck. He clothslined him in the neck. It was the right call, and not really even questionable.

Now, you might disagree with the rule....but that's different. As of now, the hit was illegal.
