THURMAN PARDUE
1937-38
Flying the S.L.I. banner for the first time, Freshman Pardue proved to be a sensation in the "tiny" weight division. When not serving as an understudy to Captain Carlo Listi in the lightweight section, Pardue dished out his "kayo" punches in the 126-pound class.
1938-39 match vs. Centenary
Thurman Pardue, Bulldog lightweight star, won a decisive victory over Richard Bond. This was one of the most interesting fights of the evening. In the opening rounds, both fighters fought to a draw, but after this it seemed as if Pardue had the edge over Bond of the Gents.
1939-40
Thurman Pardue who also fights in the featherweight class when it is necessary and who staged a late season comeback, has won four, lost two, and gained two decisions.
Mitchell (coach) is confident that Harper, Logsdon, Pardue, Campbell, Deal, and Conques will have better than even shot at the national titles in their respective weights if given a id to the nationals in April.
1940-41
Southwestern 5; University of Idaho 3
For the first time in the history of fistic relations of Southwestern the Bulldogs were hosts to the University of Idaho, 1940 national champions.
. . . .Thurman Purdue accounted for the first Bulldog victory of the season when he earned an impressive decision over Norman Jenson of the Vandals.
