Just out of curiosity.. why did we pull his offer? Wouldn't Perkins + Woods be better than Perkins + Trim?

I wouldn't get too caught up assuming more stars = better. My guess is Trim is better prepared to play immediately having some JUCO experience, and we need some immediate help in the secondary.

Once this is all over we may never hear just how bad the Westgate coaches hounded him to keep their "connections" alive and stuffing their wallets.

I looked up Trim from 2011 (coming out of HS) and his listed schools were Alabama, UL, La. Tech, LSU, USM, etc. Now his profile shows no other schools of interest. Anybody know anything about him? Were grades the issue??

According to Lee Breechen(?) this morning on 103.7 we got the better end of that deal. Don't screw around with HUD. He can always replace you.

What hawk said. Plus your comment implies that we shouldn't have offered Trim. He's a quality player with experience. He can help immediately. Plus he's been pretty solid on UL for the last few weeks, so I'm not sure why you would pull his offer.

In fact I think that Trim will get bumped up to a 3 star when the final results come in---T said that there is an appeals process and he certainly deserves one!!!! We got what we needed according to T---A cb starter for next year with 2 years of JUCO experience!!! Add that to the fact that he knows our BR kids well and is liked by them!!!

9 of the 15 guys listed so far have a 3-star rating by at least 1 of the 3 recruiting sites. That may not amount to much, but compared to past classes, it's unreal. And I believe there are more to come
