It all depends. There are so many different types. If I'm going domestic like at a wedding where there isn't a selection I usually gravitate towards Coors Light. I really dig Blue Moon. Stella Artois is very very good. Red Stripe is the best tasting beer I have ever had. New Castle is very good. Becks is good. Bass Pale Ale is good. So many to choose from. Hey Cajunstros whats that brand you always get every year that is pretty good?

The big bottle Abita is their best, IMO. SOS, Andygator and Abbey Ale. High ABV too!

The whole fruit in beer argument pops up each year when Abita Strawberry comes out. To paraphrase (from another forum):

poster 1...."Fruity beers are for girls"
poster 2... "Beer was first made with fruit."
poster 3... "Fruit drinks are ghey"
    poster 4...."Real men drink whiskey"
poster 5...."Real men drink what they want."

BUT their Jockamo IPA is good.

They once sold a Stout which they also labeled Jockamo but it was only in draft form and very hard to find. _
I have only had a few IPA's, most of the at Gulfbrew. Jockamo is one of them. They taste just awful. Like battery acid. If I were to ever drink battery acid, I think minus any melting of face area....it would taste like an IPA.

Too much hop basically. Some really love that. I'm not a big IPA guy either. Had a mainstream Canadian one but that's about the only one I can take

Oh, I almost forgot one of my favorite beers I tried on a whim for Thanksgiving day 2009. I bought a 6 pack of Lobotomy Bock. Never heard of it before saw it had a retarded alcohol content and said WTF, and bought it. Love the beer cooler at Albertson's. I drank 5...or 4 maybe and gave one or two to my cousins. 4 or 5 of these things got me pretty slushy. But it was a weird slushy. Kinda of like I had a lobotomy. Like my brain had just clocked out at 5 and went home leaving me on autopilot. My cousin went on a hard target search and found that Whole Foods in BR has it. It was super strong....but it was really really good.

I completely agree with this - I'm not a big fan of Purple Haze or Strawberry Abita, but Abita Amber is definitely my favorite of any beer. I would support Abita just based off of this one beer.

They are a bigger man than I if they can handle that stuff. Very rough stuff.

The Jockamo Stout, however, would have shamed their own IPA.

Imagine a more chocolately Guinness without the aftertaste.

Alas, they couldn't figure out how to pour it quickly because of it's head, so they canned it.

IPA's should always contain a high HOP content. Goes back to the colonization of India by the British. They needed a beer that would travel well and had a long shelf life. The Hops act as a preservative.

Good beer...... Sam Adams Cream Stout or Double Bock.

p.s. Coors Light gives beer a bad name.
