Good Article. I read a blog yesterday by the Rice beat writer in Houston and he was hyping the matchup against Texas. We were barely mentioned. Lets hope we can pull another one out today!
Highlights*
• Louisiana-Lafayette
It certainly wasn’t pretty at times from an offensive standpoint, but starting pitcher Zach Osborne simply was fabulous in a 1-0 victory over Rice. With the win, the Ragin’ Cajuns now face Texas in the winner’s bracket on Saturday. The Cajuns must get a fantastic start from T.J. Geith, who enters the contest with a 4.97 ERA. Texas definitely has the edge entering the contest, but so did Rice on Friday.
Lowlights*
• Rice
Remember when we talked about how good Rice’s offense was in the Conference USA tournament last week? Forget we said anything. The Owls were chewed up by ULL starting pitcher Zach Osborne on Friday. The Owls mustered just five hits against the talented right-hander and had some poor approaches at the plate. To say the least, coach Wayne Graham wasn’t real pleased after the game.
