Football 2026 schedule?

Am I correct in assuming that we are going to need 2 out of conference opponents to be added next year?

Currently our OOC schedule includes:

Lamar and UAB at Home
La Tech on the road

But if I am not mistaken, Tech will be a conference opponent next year with the departure of Texas State. So, we will need 2 road out of conference opponents next season, if I am correct.

That is correct. Many things coming into play with realignment. If PAC-12 plays a 7 game schedule, their conference members will need to add a non-conference game. SEC is switching to a 9 game schedule so some of their previously scheduled non-conference games will be dropped. It will be musical schedules coming up soon.

well the good news for us is we do not have an SEC team scheduled out through 2032.

Teams looking for away games. Not likely unless we add 7th home game or reshuffle other games.

There are many schedules not complete. SEC going to 9 games. PAC-12 may be going to 7 games. LA Tech joining the Sun Belt. Those changes will affect tons of schedules in the next two months.

Plenty of time has passed, but I kinda understand the Tech opening.

This is not complicated, unless they are negotiating a 3-for-1 the other opening needs an explanation.
