its called 2nd chances folks.....Justin Gabriel????
Pulling a knife on someone is a pretty big incident. However, in fairness to the kid, most of us do not know the exact circumstances. Also, JMO, but some of these "coaches" walk around treating life like one big game of f around and find out. Look at the incidents with Sarkisian and O'Sullivan in recent years. Acting like a full grown man baby with no sense of professionalism gets passed off in the sports world as just an "alpha competitor geared up for battle." I'm fine with tough coaching, but when you cross certain lines, you can't predict how everyone, especially hormonal teenagers, are gonna react.
Showing someone a pocket knife and pulling a knife on someone could be 2 wildly different things and apparently the assistant coach in question had a reputation of bullying high school kids. Not saying the kid was right but we all know the media can have a way of framing things. He went to an SEC school with no incidents and was one of the highest rated kids in the country coming out of his junior year.
I agree with your statement about showing a knife versus pulling it on someone. However, as a skeptic, I highly doubt the incident would have ever left that room if it hadn't been revealed in anger. I do not know the story, so I should not be here to defend or condemn the kid. Overall I just think this is an interesting instance that highlights several societal issues we have currently.
Sounds like he got a little dog in him…good.
