Gonna be a long year. This is a 30 win team at best.

Facts this year will be about playing young guys to get them ready for next year. Figure out who that is and go with it. Older guys can sit if they are not producing at high level. Have a bunch of freshman get them seasoned.

Average to below average baseball so far. Nothing great about this team yet. Long season.

If your pitching staff spends the offseason mowing down your own hitters who can’t hit, then your pitchers look great. But in reality, they’re just throwing to guys who can’t hit.

I was thinking 35 wins is the ceiling but you’re probably right. Just a very mediocre ball-club.

Young team if they can stay together and play this year reap the benefits next year and the year after. The key is to play them this year and get them to stay together no portal crap.

When is the last time (if ever) that we’ve played a top 25 team in 4 straight weekend series? I don’t think we are a “bad” team. We are probably very average when looking at the whole of college baseball. This stretch is an absolute gauntlet though, and we are not at the caliber currently of the teams we are facing. In the long run, this is a very good problem to have, especially with the struggle we have coming up in conference play. Means we can schedule well and get top notch teams to play us at our place and theirs. 3 ranked teams in our league is a huge boost to the ceiling of our program. I have a feeling this is gonna be tough to watch in the short term though. I’ll have to keep reminding myself of that.

All the walks and some errors made for ugly baseball in 2 of 3 games. That wasn’t fun to watch.

We will improve. We are playing young and we are young. It will get better. I would be surprised if the 2nd half of the season was not better than the 1st half. It will be fun to watch.
