Winning 25% of your P5 games, I’ll take that given our history.

It’s the bowl games and the SBC title game that is a problem.
Not mad at most of this but I personally care zero about bowl games. They are exhibitions that give extra practice time.

This is an entirely new dynamic.

Bowl season = worthless, except for payout.

Maggard's title says it all. This is business.

Loyalty, Tradition, Honor are on their way out the door with every roster spot that appears filled then magically disappears. Of course it still exists for all us, but the players (majority) are thinking about a check from a bigger stadium.

About the only positive is that we know we have the right man for the job for that specific season, and that's it.

Think the point is leading the team as head coach for a full season. Each season’s body of work.

Last season, given the schedule in front of them, the Cajuns won the games they should have and lost the games they should have. USA was a winnable game but UL was a slight underdog in that one.

Bowl games are completely irrelevant in the current landscape. It’s a game of attrition since many guys are either sitting out (draft) or moving out (portal).

They are a financial drain on schools (ask the Sun Belt how far in the red these bowl games put them). Wish the playoff could get rid of them.
Agreed that bowl games are irrelevant big picture BUT it worries me that we looked totally unprepared to play TCU and Marshall in the CCG.

Winning and losing those bowl games is one thing. Getting dominated and destroyed on national TV is another.

Bowl games are your last recruiting sales pitch.

You will miss out on great talent if the mesage is disorientation.

Desormeaux is continuing to learn as we speak.

    Bowl wins a comin.

We are our own worst enemy when we discount bowl images amd parrot things like "there are too many bowls". If too many why not close bowls first that take p4 teams with losing records rarher than our g5 collegaues. It is a "big boy" narrative and enforced selectively to harm us
