I once judged a gumbo cookoff (as PooPoo Broussard) deep in Cajun country. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would sit down at a table and sample some of the worst "gumbo" I've ever tasted. I wasn't alone in my judgement. One of them actually had olives in it. It was a sad day. A sad, sad day.

The pessimist in me thinks that this is going to get screwed up by the Administration one way or another.

I watch Blake's post last night and I agree on pretty much every point he makes. Many of us have said the exact same thing here for years.

I'm optimistic that things will start turning our way. But I've been around to long to believe it before I see it.

Either that or they'll shut it down because of the liability. Can't have anyone burning their palate.

After years of waiting, networking, investing, and speaking out, a coalition of perfectly placed alumni, former players, non-traditional media, business leaders, and influential Acadiana residents is finally taking shape. A big change in fan engagement and community involvement is on the horizon. And it will be completely independent of the "officials."

Excited about the future of our base, for the first time in a long time.
