This is the thing. Ad the other side gets to play too so a good call on offense can be negated by having the right call on defense. Sometimes the other guy just makes a better play.
It is really hard to tell bad play calls from bad execution unless you are watching the All-22 and can rewind.

Charlie let's clear up a couple of things really quick:
1) I have supported Mike Desormeaux since he was hired. I was there at the press conference.
2)I defended him from day one and constantly explained to people that Billy Napier plundered this program on the way out and how many support staff and players were taken.
3) I have known Des since he played quarterback in HS and his father as well.
4) When he played here, I asked him to coach the QB's at a football camp I sponsored with Trev Faulk.
5) I have been a member of his QB Club since day one and are among the 35 to 40 people that bother to show up weekly. I have chairbacks and I'm a member of RCAF. So, don't get it twisted that I don't support Mike.
But, let me also say Mike Desormeaux like all coaches has his flaws. When it comes to Des, he is stubborn and prefers to learn lessons that hard way. He has said as much recently beginning his first year with a system playing two QBs, including the Monroe game, and pulling Fields with a two-touchdown lead at halftime. I have spoken to former coaches that coached him under Bustle, coached with him under Napier, former players that played with him and played for him. And some of them have said the same thing about Mike.
Now, I have a few more examples but since this discussion has caused such a ____ storm, I will end my post this way. I'm extremely happy we are winning again, and Coach Desormeaux is proving a number of people wrong this season on how to build his program. This isn't personnel, it's my opinion based upon what I see and what I have learned. Let's not act like Bob Marlin fans that refuse to have such discussions. I'm not listening to that crap; we can just kick that bs to the curb. I'm going to express my opinions because I backup my words with actions of support.
How about running the ball on 3rd and 10 when down 6 to 0. Washington gets stuffed vs breaking one to the house and Dez would be an idiot in the view of some folks. We have run the ball with success on third and long frequently this year. Hopefully that helps the passing game in remaining contests.
Like I said, the reason I didn't trust Napier's "best interest" recommendation (at the time) is because of his simultaneous player poaching project.

What ____ storm? And I agree with nearly everything you posted there that I can. When did I say you didn’t support Mike? I definitely never said, implied or tried to imply that. Who said you can’t have your opinion?
Some people think getting to have an opinion means never having it questioned.
