Uh, as far as I know, the Lafayette area code was 337 back when I was at U(S)L in the early '80's.

Baton Rouge was 504 prior to 1998

I would have also thought both were changed earlier than those dates but Google says different

My digital watch with built-in calculator and address book had everybody's area code in middle school as 318.
