2000 Baseball Season

I watched the whole game again on ragincajuns.com and wondered if anyone knows what really happened during the scuffle at the end of the game. I don't remember if I heard or not after it happened. If I did, then I forgot why. Clemson sore losers? Did one of our players do something to provoke it during the emotions?

Still one of the best baseball games I have ever seen and the gutsiness of the Cajuns on the basepaths still makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck...

Left Fielder for Clemp-sun got a really bad attitude after UL won. Pushed one of our guys in the back.(I believe)

Seriously, if you lose....be gracious, dont throw beer bottles at busses, and dont push opposing players in the back.

I think this says it all about the Clemson Tigers,

Sore losers who could not handle it. I guess taking the state of South Carolina out in less than two weeks was simply too much for them to handle.....

Casey Stone, the Clemson left fielder, was running off of the field from his position and delivered a running shove into the back of one of the Cajun players. I believe it was Ryan Gil, but I am not sure. I saw some video of the incident shortly after it happened. The Omaha paper featured a scathing article condemning Stone and his cowardly action.

But you can rest assured that there was jawing coming from both dugouts for most of the game. That Cajun team had some swagger.

When the video comes up, advance the slide until it's directly over the Full Advance ( >| ) button. It should bring up the bottom of the 5th, right before we steal home.

It's beautiful.

Then advance to the very end, where we rally from a 4-3 hole in the bottom of the 9th. The winning run doesn't look safe at first, but the replay proves it.

But the other thing, was Clemson. You'll see a brawl almost break out, but look at it closely. We found out later that Clemson was pushing our players back and screaming at them not to fight, any ejections would not be able to play against Stanford.

Pretty classy of the Clemson players.

Two other things to look at: after we steal home, look at the disgust on the Clemson catcher's face.

And right after that, watch the amazing play Clemson makes to get out of the inning, and to keep us from scoring again.
